Hm.
I can't edit the .doc as I don't own Microsoft Word.
Is there anything else I could try? Running in gdb, trying the windows
version, ...

Could you please try to create a simple test .doc which reproduces the
problem and post it here ? For example, you could start with your
confidential document and delete all confidential data in it, and then
try to reproduce the bug with the new document.
