I stll can not complete my installation it gets to uncompressing files
and then the ubuntu logo comes up,refreshes itself ,the cd rom spins and
reads a while and then it just dies?

I have changed the BIOS settings and I was able to install UBUNTU.

Which first page does it take you to? The Wubi page? If you manually
reboot, are you able to boot to the CD? If not, check that your BIOS
settings allow you to boot to the CD.
