thanks for confirm, i know im not going crazy trying to figure why my
wont load also, have you tried loading previous alpha4 and see if it
works?
I alos get I/O error, it seems as if when i press the enter button to
lunch the cd. all i get is cd spin for a second and then nothing goes.
For us, Alpha 6 does NOT work. We tried karmic-desktop-i386.iso (Both
Ubuntu and Xubuntu) and they all failed. All downloads had correct
md5sum. We tried this on 5 different physical boxes with different CDs
and CD-RWs media and one virtual machine (using the image, NOT a real
medium). All these bo

that the Live CD works both on my Lap top & PC.
'siucdude' I suggest you try downloading karmic alpha 6 again. I say
this because I had a 'corrupted' download despite doing a MD Sum check
which did not catch this error.

i just downloaded karmic alpha 6 today to test and i get the same error,
on 5 different computers with different motherboards and cpus.
after the choose language i can't choose any menu option except the boot
from original hd.

Hi this was not a real bug.
I felt that I had downloaded the entire ISO, because thje K3B MD sum did
not show an error.
But when I right clicked 'properties' I noticed this file was around 300 MB
instead of around 700 MB.
I downloaded it again and Live CD Karmic Alpha-5 works fine on my ACER 59
I tried the download as given in
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/alpha-5/
and since then haven't been able to complete any downloads for other things
too. Previously it was fine but now i get to nearly complete a download and
then suddenly my wired unlimited broadband suddenly gets di
