Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz
I'm using Karmic and ever since about a month ago (not sure exact date) whenever the computer returns from sleep the screen is frozen. The image itself on the screen is frozen but the computer is still active including the mouse cursor which works and I can hover it over screen elements and see how the cursor reacts to them (turns to an I-beam when over text fields etc). When the computer resumes the screen is either frozen completely blank (black) which is often how it is when it resumes from a closed laptop lid or I see the previous content of the screen but its just a static image - which often happens when I resume the laptop after it has been sitting open for a few hours. when that happens I can log in by positioning the mouse carefully on the screensaver-lock input box, typing the password blindly and then blindly using ALT-F2 and executing "compiz --replace" which restores my desktop (albeit reset with all windows on the first workspace). I can reproduce this 100%. My hardware is Thinkpad T61 with GM965.
