They were working on that class since KDE 4.0, but the code was never
enabled for any KDE release. Usually they have a "since KDE 4.3" for
methods/APIs that haven't been around forever. Dunno why this one is
different.

How come the API docs at api.kde.org show the class to be part of at
least KDE 4.0?

I have to tell you I am new at KDE programming. Could you be so kind to
explain to me how I can (reliably) find out which classes are
KTcpSocket was only released with KDE 4.3 or higher.
