Public bug reported:

The most recent Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid AMIs published by Canonical are
from April 2009:

  # us-east-1 32-bit
  ami-5059be39
  canonical-cloud-us/ubuntu-intrepid-20090422-i386.manifest.xml

  # us-east-1 64-bit
  ami-255bbc4c
  canonical-cloud-us/ubuntu-intrepid-20090422-amd64.manifest.xml

  # eu-west-1 32-bit
  ami-80c0e8f4
  canonical-cloud-eu/ubuntu-intrepid-20090422-i386.manifest.xml

  # eu-west-1 64-bit
  ami-84c0e8f0
  canonical-cloud-eu/ubuntu-intrepid-20090422-amd64.manifest.xml

A lot of bugs which were in these images have been fixed in the
underlying packages (e.g., vm-builder, ec2-init) but in order for the
fixes to be usable, new Intrepid AMIs needs to be published.

I'm creating this ticket to track the creation of updated Intrepid
images.
