When I updated to lucid alpha 2 the distribution upgrade did ask me
where grub should be written. Problem solved.

VERY DANGEROUS OVERWRITES MBR WITHOUT WARNING !!
I installed Karmic Koala Ubunutu 9.10 from the live CD icon on a MACBOOK PRO
13".
I choose to install on and 8GB SD card (sdb) and used "manual partion" to set
up sda1 as an ext3
mounted as "/".
Everything went fine until the very end when ubiguit
typo above:
i did set up sdb1 as ext3 and mountpoint "/"
(and i checked during installation, that it did the right thing from the
terminal)
