Thanks for your bugreport.
You should not write files in the users homedir from a package postinst.
That will cause a lot of problems, it will fail on shared NFS homedirs,
it will fail because it writes only to one home, etc. Just don't do it.

Now the problem comes to dpkg too, i dont know how to install things,
all .deb installer are messed up.
i use this simple script to install and setup packaged wallpapers:
j...@karmic:~$ cat ./postinst
#! /bin/bash
echo " Setting up Wallpaper . . . "
chmod --verbose +r /usr/share/backgrounds/luci
