The reason p4-clockmod doesn't seem to work, is because the conservative and ondemand modules are no longer included with the default ubuntu kernels. Once you have p4-clockmod modules loaded you should be able to change the processor speed with a reloaded "userspace CPU Frequency Monitor". But non

I have a similar problem on a Pentium D 960. Normally, I scale this thing down using p4-clockmod in other distros, but ubuntu insists on loading acpi-cpufreq and refuses to unload it so I can load the p4-clockmod. Long story short, both cores are stuck @ 3.60GHZ and the box is just idling most of

I have a similar problem. There used to be a 'remember authorization' checkbox so I didn't have to always enter my password to change cpu frequency, but now it's gone. It's been replaced by a 'Details' dropdown which says 'Action: org.gnome.cpufreqselector'. Clicking that doesn't open anything. W
