Got the solution:

1. Removed the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/adobe-flashplugin.prerm
2. Ran "dpkg --force-all --remove adobe-flashplugin" to remove the flash-plugin
completely.

I deleted all the "adobe-flashplugin" files I could find on the system
and I was able to download ubuntu one (I had it before but was not
working properly.). From what I learned, I was using adobe-flashplugin
for jaunty and some of the dependencies were in conflict as I was
running Karmic. Anyway

(Ubuntu)
