Are you saying that you were using NetworkManager on interfaces listed
in /etc/network/interfaces?
NetworkManager does not use /etc/network/interfaces. I think you (the
German user) are describing a bug in gnome-system-tools.
If you right-click on the network icon in your GNOME Panel, and select
I've been able to retest and no longer experience this bug in Dapper.

Ok, then if the bug isn't reproducable and has disappeared I'm closing
it out.

I´m using the german version of dapper and had a similar problem.
First I don´t have passphrase as an option in teh dropdown menu.
But anyway, I was trying to set up my Netgear WG111v2 USB Wlan Stick
and it was autodetected as eth0.
I solved that problem. After I got it installed via ndiswrapper
This bug doesn't seem to be present in the version of nm shipped with
dapper. Everything looks good.

Comment from upstream:
Is this an ASCII passphrase, and if so, are you choosing the ASCII passphrase
option from the dropdown menu?
There are 3 options for WEP: hex, ASCII, and Passphrase. Each is distinct,
and you pretty much have to know which one you're using, since it's impossible
to
