It appears that the crash only occurs when an XMMS derived application
(such as beep-media-player or audacious) is visible on the desktop at
the moment the screensaver kicks in. If the player is minimized to the
task bar, the crash does not happen.

Hi,
Just a heads up: I have this same problem using Xubuntu Dapper. I am also using
an nvidia gfx card (GeForce2 Pro NV15) with the nvidia-glx-legacy drivers. The
session does not crash every time the screensaver starts (also a GL
screensaver), but only sporadically.
