I've compiled kernel 2.6.32.11 and with that the ath5k works nicely. So
seems to be something which has been fixed upstream. In Lucid it will be
probably fine.

give the same problems under Karmic. This happens mainly when the reception is
not
I am seeing something similar along with a massive throughput regression
on my wifi. It started happening in the last week or so, which I hope
helps limit the number of changes needed to examine.

Sorry for the insane number of attachments; was following the
instructions at the wiki for reporting bugs and it recommended using the
apport-collect command ... did not realize it was going to go this all
out.
Anyway - I am having the same problem/error and my internet is getting
kicked on/off.
This is still happening in Ubuntu 9.10 Beta ... Today I had to reinstall ubuntu
from beta because I could not access the internet
so please do u need more info, I'll give you what you need, just fix this
before final release
