My situation is another variation of this problem. I have an Asus gv50t, nvidia chipset. I'll send my apport-collect data. I see a headphone checkbox in gnome-mixer. I don't see a jack sense switch. The same is true for alsa-mixer. I get sound in my headphone if I plug the jack in part way. With it
