A Me too! Just switched my home network to a dualband 2.4GHz(g) and 5GHz(n). I've got at ThinkPad R500 with at 5100AGN wifi-card. Show the above behavior - doesn't work with n (*) but works with g. (*) unless i run iwconfig wlan0 rate 54M Would be nice to get the full n-experience! :-)

You generally can't revert due to serious changes in the kernel wifi infrastructure. Sometimes installing linux-backports-modules-karmic will do the trick as this brings in even newer drivers from even newer kernel versions. (It does currently contain updated drivers and microcode for this

This bug has hit me as well. I get the same 'ERROR: No TX rate available.' in dmesg when trying to connect on 5GHz to a Xirrius AP. At some point, it switches to 2.4GHz and the connection works well. Also, is there a way to force a given connection on 5GHz or 2.4GHz using network manager? OR
