Have you tried experimenting with different model keywords in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf ?

I had to google what you meant by adding models to the alsa conf since I
am sort of new to linux, but i added
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-dv5
to the end of that file and it worked! You are a pro dude thanks a lot!
