B43 disappears because it is uninstalled by Jockey when switching to STA. It can be reinstalled and loaded, but will not work with network manager, and is not a bug in Jockey. STA requires a restart to update network-manager. Inspiron 1545 users, use STA, although it does still have a few bugs
