Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
(karmic beta) I have "reduce backlight brightness" checked and "dim display when idle" unchecked On Battery Power. When I unplug the laptop (ThinkPad X61, GM965 chipset), it does not reduce brightness. However, if I leave it on battery power, it will reduce the brightness almost exactly 1 hour after it was unplugged. This can be reproduced reliably on my laptop, and idleness doesn't seem to be a factor (it happened when I was in the middle of typing this last time). The brightness will increase to normal immediately upon plugging back in.
