Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-shell

After just having installed the most recent Karmic updates, gnome-shell
does not start anymore.

This is the only log output returned on the console:

% gnome-shell --replace
Fensterverwalter-Warnung:Log level 16: Could not load library
[/usr/lib/mutter/plugins/libgnome-shell.so
(/usr/lib/mutter/plugins/libgnome-shell.so: undefined symbol:
meta_alt_tab_handler_get_type)]
Fensterverwalter-Warnung:Log level 8: failed to load plugins

I think, I have not seen these messages before, so they might be a hint.

gnome-shell does indeed not immediatly stop, you have to press "ctrl-c",
but it does not work either.

Let me know, if I can provide you with further details.
