I cant' run war3 too =(
I have wine 1.1.4 and when i try to run war3 happend the following error:

It ran well with ubuntu9.04, I upgraded wine to 1.1.31, it also thraw:

Hi there, I'm having the same problem here.
Every time I try to run something that uses OpenGL in Wine it runs very
slow. Installing the version 1.1.31 of Wine from Karmic repositories
does not seem to solve my problem.
I'm quite sure that it's a Wine bug, since running OpenGL stuff natively

Wine 1.1.31 is installable from the software center in Karmic now for
exactly this reason. Thank you :)

Only install the latest version of wine from www.winehq.org!
I have installed version wine-1.1.31
