Bug is reproducible, however, I noticed when clicking the dead link, a
new Note1 is created. This behaviour also occurs when the 'highlight
wikiwords' option is activated.

Just a note to say that the option 'highlight wikiwords' in the
Preferences modifies the behaviour of deleting notes. If the option is
checked, deleting a note does not remove link, however any modification
of the text containing the dead link will remove the link completely. If
'wikiwords' is
I can confirm that this happens in Maverick too (Tomboy 1.4.0).
Also there's no way to remove the link: Selecting the text and clicking link
won't remove it (doesn't matter if it links to a existing note or not..)
