Set Importance to low since there is an easy workaround. The issue is
not that it does not show hidden files at all, but there are two groups
of display form that save the status seemingly in a different "place".

This behavior persists in Kubuntu Edgy (AMD64). There is no keyboard
shortcut for "Show hidden files" by default, but after adding one, I got
behavior identical to what the submitter described. Upon further
investigation, it appears Konqueror actually has two different options
that are both called
