Public bug reported:

The volume control on the panel does not work, so I installed Gnome ALSA mixer.
With this I was able to adjust sound volume (which was set to minimum and/or
muted for all devices) but after latest update (20-10-08) I have to go into
this and turn up volume after every reboot.
Also the panel volume-control apparently has no profile for my sound set up
(analogue stereo and digital 5.1 spdif).
SPDIF and analogue both work, but I only discovered this after installing Gnome
ALSA mixer.
