Public bug reported: Binary package hint: upstart
I am not sure if this is an upstart problem or not. When I use a Karmic livecd (i have tried beta and release candidate) on my system, I initially get the white ubuntu flashing logo but after some time it goes away, I see a screen with text for an instant and then the screen turns black, the processer and cd-rom are busy for some while but then they stop and nothing happens further. I can successfully boot from Jaunty livecd and install it, then upgrade to Karmic and the system works fine. I have a nvidia 7300 GT graphics card on this system.
