Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu 9.10 release candidate code name Jaunty Jackelope on my computer. It works fine using the onboard Intel GMA 950 graphics. When I update the Hardware Drivers, Ubuntu automatically finds and installs the driver package for my EVGA PCI graphics card with an NVidia 6200 GPU. I can't remember the exact name of the package. Then I am asked to restart my computer. When it reboots, I get an error message that says
yealink: unexpected response fd This error message repeats over and over again. and my computer never finishes rebooting. I have this same problem with other versions of Ubuntu and even Mint. This problem also happens with Fedora and other non Ubuntu versions of Linux. In fact the only version of Linux that likes my PCI NVidia 6200 graphics card is PCLinuxOS. The bug I'm reporting is that the NVidia graphics hardware driver package DOES NOT WORK WITH ANY VERSION OF UBUNTU using my EVGA NVidia 6200 graphics card. By the way, this graphics card works just fine with Windows 7, so it's not a hardware problem. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Problems with NVidia 6200 graphics https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/460148 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
