Still having these issues in the 15.04 version. It fills my 16 GB RAM
system from time to time... reisub being the only way to come back to
life.

When Nautilus tries to preview pdf files in thumbnails, sometimes
evince-thumbnailer grows to the memory limit and the system starts
swapping. Killing the process takes several minutes due to the memory
swapping. It does not happen always, maybe on every tenth time that I

Using the attached PDF file and Xubuntu Lucid Lynx, I can confirm this

This bug is now affecting Lucid. It seems to happen when creating a PDF
from a business (Filogix) website. Everything grays out and I can't open
the System Monitor to kill it.

I think I have found the one pdf that is actually responsible for
choking evince-thumbnailer (regardless wether with gksudo nautilus or
normal nautilus - but normal nautilus already had choked once on it and
afterwards it seems to know, that it has failed on that file and evince-
thumbnailer does n

I was able to reproduce it once (but not anymore) while using
gksudo nautilus
(and I have used this method the last time, this problem ocurred). This time I
managed to kill evince-thumbnailer after a few minutes of unresponsive desktop
and tried to make a test-case by moving the pdf files to diff
It actually might be a problem with the pdf files in the folder, because
they were the only ones, which had the -still creating preview- circles
in them.
