This was not a bug against libtk-splashscreen-perl. Not opening a new
task as Karmic is now End of Life. If this issue is being experienced
on a later (supported) release, please either open a task against that
package or comment.

Retract that last. Its fixed in the install screen, but not in the boot
screen in GA
