Considering kubuntu 9.04 had this same bug, I consider this a shame. I
can't accept any kind of workaround. If you are so serious about that
stupid workaround, then be coherent. Kubuntu should install gnome
I'm not sure. I do know that there's no difference in Netbook that would
cause it. I'll check into it once I'm back at a computer.

Kewl - I'm trying a package update as well as I only installed in the
ISO - nothing additional. May open a separate bug - tried the firefox
install but it just says all the packages are already installed -

It will work if you have a wired conection for setup, but yes, you can't
get wireless network to a hidden ssid wirhout some way to install
additional packages.

This isn't a netbook specific problem. I don't have a hidden ssid to
test with, but wpa works when it's not hidden.
