Public bug reported: Release 9.10 Linux Kernel 2.6.31-14-generic Hardware: HP Mini 110 netbook
Bug found when running "System Testing" application to speak into microphone. The expected action is my speech played back. The observed action was no sound played back. Note: CDs and system sounds play on this system, so the speakers are able to get some input from the driver. Ran test with both internal mic (which I am not sure exists) and external mic plugged in ProblemType: Bug AplayDevices: **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Architecture: i386 ArecordDevices: **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] Subdevices: 2/2 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: paul 1520 F.... pulseaudio Card0.Amixer.info: Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xfe938000 irq 16' Mixer name : 'IDT 92HD81B1X5' Components : 'HDA:111d7605,103c308f,00100402' Controls : 26 Simple ctrls : 16 CheckboxCommand: alsa_record_playback CheckboxData: I'm not sure there is a built-in microphone on this computer, so I used a headset mic to run this test in addition to trying to run the test normally.
