Yes Put dvd in drive SOMETIMES it happens sometimes it may unmount in the middle of something else like write or wipe but does not mess up write but wipe makes dvd RW unusable(not the disk, RW works fine in windows) my 2 cents may be notify related I really don't know the root issue -- dvd
