Since my last comment I have not seen this hanging problem once in four
months on my HP 6730b. I suspend at least once a day. I can only guess
it was a fluke or that it has been fixed for me since then.

Did anyone found at least some work around for this problem or does
nobody care about this bug any more? I have the same problem on my HP
Compaq nx9420 laptop (after upgrading from 9.04 suspend hangs my machine
every time). I have no card in card reader and the behaviour is still

This happens repeatedly on my Sony Vaio. After coming back from suspend the
green light turns on but the machine hangs. I have this problem ever since I
upgraded to karmic. I seriously consider falling back to 9.04. It is quite
agitating to have to shutdown the laptop instead of suspend.

present after upgrade to 2.6.31-16-generic. I use x86_64 Ubuntu on Acer

I definitely had no SD card in my reader when this happened to me, but I
can also say that it has not happened again yet. I suspend between 2 and
4 times per day, so for me it seems to be a very rare problem.

To correct my earlier comment, this has actually only happened once so
far in Karmic. Kernel 2.6.31-14-generic. If anyone has an idea on how
to debug the problem, I'm willing to try (I assume this is a kernel
issue).

Have the same problem on my samsung nc-10 but only after I upgraded to
2.6.31-15 kernel. It seems like the power management in Karmic is
pants, based on the number of bugs outstanding. Not good considering M$
tends to place a high value on turd polishing and Win7 will probably not
have so many is

HP 6730b laptop, with Intel "Mobile 4 Series Chipset" graphics.
