By a strange coincidence I ran the same print job today using
2.6.31-20-generic - with no problems. If you want any more info on my
system please specify. Thanks for your continuing contributions - very
much appreciated.

I'm not sure about the "data violation" error, but Vic's "Error:
undefined - OFFENDING COMMAND: 0a" error should be fixed on Karmic by
updating libcairo2 to the latest available Karmic version
(1.8.8-2ubuntu1.1). See https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo for
details.
Can you please update an
same problem here, some PDF (not all) cannot be printed, printer
displays "data violation" message

I have the same problem.
Some PDF print without problem (the ones I generate with latex), others give an
error on the printer:
Data violation.
I have this problem on three different computers!
I am availble to run some tests. Please advise.
