Binary package hint: gnome-disk-utility

On starting my desktop, I receive a "Hard disk may be failing.  One of
more hard disks report health problems.  Click the icon to get more
information" dialog.  I'm then presented with "Cancel" and "Ok".

What is the difference between "Cancel" and "Ok"?
