Since upgrade to Karmic (I think near RC stage) I lost sound in built-in
speakers. Desperately I dd'ed my partitions on HD and made fresh install of
Karmic: still no sound. However I can hear sound through headphones jack, and
it's clear,
Reopening, as sound still missing in freshly installed Maverick.
