I tried gnomesword (2007-10-14) in Gutsy Gibbon (the latest updates) and
the bug was resolved. So please can anyone close this bug :).

I hope this file can bring some enlightment to your problem.
I am using Ubuntu Christian Edition, and GnomeSword2 was installed by
default.
