But did you actually change those mixer settings? If so, please attach
the output from executing "amixer" in a Terminal.

I think not. I hear the sound of my voice, but very low. It is noise
that is incredibly loud and disturbs out everything else. Have tried to
increase the volume submitted. her voice is barely noticeably higher,
but the noise is always high.
