the last few weeks so I thought that the last kernel update fixed it. If

i had not heard about timidity before, if it is installed it was because
of ubuntu or some other package. I usually only run skype, mplayer or
flash (it really sucks...).
The problem first appeared in beta (where I had no sound at all) and
then when karmic was released I do have sound unless I do

Now after I ran dist-upgrade on this other thinkpad (last upgrade was
1.5weeks~ ago) now my sound dissapeared mysteriously too. Here is a

For me there is straight up no sound coming out
I honestly think I must be missing something obvious.
I tried muting IEC958 and IEC958 D is various positions and nothing
clicked.

I am not able to find anything similar for my chipset, which is an old
one so I guess that it is not a regression nor a bug. I can not
determine if it is an ubuntu specific problem or not.
