The issue should be fixed in lucid but reopen if you still get the bug there ** Package changed: indicator-applet (Ubuntu) => indicator-me (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: indicator-me (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- indicator-applet leaves user signed into IM even after IM client

This does not exist in Lucid. If you close the IM client say empathy or pidgin indicator-applet-session's stats automatically changes to offline (its icon). can any one facing this issue still confirm if it exists. Thanks in advance ** Changed in: indicator-applet (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged =

Stanley: I previously changed the associated package to indicator- applet. It appears as if closing out an IM program correctly by using the Quit/Exit options does something weird with the indicator applet. ** Changed in: indicator-applet (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: ind

Empathy does have "send and receive messages" under its name after I close it. However, although I am more than willing to assist you in troubleshooting this, I have to point out that this bug report is not about Empathy at all. The problem is with Pidgin and how indicator- applet-session keeps IM

Ok, when you close out empathy, click on the indicator session applet and see if Empathy has "send and receive messages" underneath it. Also please type 'apport-collect 476155' in your terminal, you may have to install a package for this to work, but the terminal should let you know which ones. -

I spoke somewhat too soon. This has nothing to do with indicator- session, but closing Empathy apparently doesn't really close it. It comes up if someone starts a conversation with me. -- indicator-applet leaves user signed into IM even after IM client exits https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476155

Sorry, I don't have that problem. Changing the status through indicator- session does not open up Empathy. My original problem still stands, though. -- indicator-applet leaves user signed into IM even after IM client exits https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476155 You received this bug notification

Stanley, Thanks for your bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better. I would like to confirm this bug report and get it in the right hands to be fixed. I am getting an issue that I have pidgin open and setting a different status using the indicator-session causes empathy to start in that session
