I had the problem before I used the custom kernel, and it went away
after I switched to the custom kernel. This is likely because the
custom kernel disabled app armour and at the time I didn't know what
the problem is but I knew how to build a custom kernel.

before reading your respones.
I was looking for run level 3 and it appears the world has changed a
little, so i managed to modify grub details.

grub line by doing this:
1) `cd /etc/default`
2) `sudo gedit grub`
3) change GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT from
