Ramaddan's solution did not work for me, as I have no such file path.
However Cristian Molina's solution worked for me.

Question still remains. Why does Sugar change this setting?
Looks like the compiz gconf backend is listening for changes in metacity
key bindings and changing its own keybindings accordingly. This is
because integration with GNOME is activated.

hi, same here. Cant try sugar with this ugly behavior.
I manage to fix it going to menu-system-preferencies- windows and seeing
that all movement keys (alt, ctrl Super) were selected. I checked only once
and fix it.

Had the exact same problem, and was driving me crazy after trying to use
Sugar.
However, someone suggested to disable Compiz in the forums for an issue
with mouse poling while he was using a program, so it gave me the idea
to try disabling Compiz and see what happens.
After doing so, my

I am pretty sure that this is a bug in xephyr but I have encountered
continual unsetting of my alt-tab setting when trying sugar from a
command line. It's very annoying and very repeatable. I haven't dug
into why it's happening or exactly which package is to blame yet.
