This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it

I just realised that some of the crashes were due to my recent upgrade to
python 3.1. Naturally since I wanted to use this as a default Python version
for programming I inadvertently recreated the soft link for python to point to
python 3.1.
