Public bug reported:

I've upgraded to karmic.
Grub loads the image succesfully, but system goes to panic in less than a
second.
This bug is mentioned for kernel version: 2.6.31-14-[generic but not only], as
I have no problems with the kernel ver. 2.6.28.

The output:
    [0.717] acpi_processor ...
    [0.717] ?__down_write+0xb/0x10
    ..
    ...
(there are some acpi, init instrucions)
    ....
    [0.718] child_rip+0xa/0x20
    [0.718] ?kernel_init + 0x0/0xd5
    [0.718] child_rip+0x/0x20
    (now system stops)

And from here on the keyboard leds (without numlock) are blinking. The problem
is same for 2.6.31-9-rt kernel version. I assume that it maybe affects the
entire 2.6.31 version...
I've tried the noacpi option in grub line, but is the same.

The problem is also at the end of screen is no outputed an error string or
something similar.
It is possible that the ubuntu loader icon makes some problems?!.

Hope I wrote this just enough descriptively. Just say if you need some
more output (more or less acpi instructions).
