Note this applies to both native dialogs and when Use OpenOffice.org dialogs
is selected.
Also applies to lucid.
This is a usability bug, especially for naiive users.
The file should be saved with the new extension, in the selected directory,
without returning to the Save dialog.

About the severity of this bug. Documents opened directly from email
attachments (e.g. in Thunderbird) /tmp. If the edited version is saved
back there, it is not just a matter of the document being in the wrong
place - it will be lost after a reboot.
