Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 not showing email, and leaking memory
https://launchpad.net/bugs
Hello Karl,
Thank you for the bug report, can I ask if this is still an issue for
you with 1.5.0.9? I cannot seem to recreate this bug, (haven't tested
extensively yet).
We are working through the backlog of bugs now.
Thanks again, Alex.

Is there any way to disable this "cache everything" approach? I'd much
prefer that these apps reload things from our corporate web cache than
they fill up all my RAM with stale data.

It occurs to me t.bird is probably caching all opened email+probably any
email you might want cached - in much the same way firefox saves all its
downloaded files to memory, and doesnt drop them.

Thunderbird's virtual memory size is 98788 on startup. When I click on
"Inbox" at 14:50 it increases to 120m. At 15:50 it is 150m. Some hours
later it is 187m. At this point the computer (with 250 MiB memory) is
becoming slow if another large application such as Firefor is running.
