I've had this computer for ten months now without this problem. Ubuntu

I, too, am of the opinion that this is not a duplicate bug.
This one clearly is caused by Dell DataSafe Local Backup (DDSLB). It happened
to me the moment I rebooted after a DDSLB update (in Win 7). I had to

I have a similar problem with a Dell XPS desktop, but it seems to happen
only when I copy files from an external hard disk to windows 7. When
this happens I have to reinstall grub using the live CD. However, it

As @Chris_Z stated: The problem appears to be after Windows updates and
Windows does some blind-writing to where the mbr exists. I am
suspecting it has something to do with creating restore points, and I'm
wondering if there is any possible workaround. I suppose I could try
disabling Restore Poi

I had this exact same problem except that the message says:
`the symbol '?set_more' not found.`
And there is a weird smiley face character before the question mark.
Any help on how I can get this machine up and running again would be
