Binary package hint: compiz
Old Celeron/G945 system ran jaunty fine. Load karmic from liveCD. After
reboot, system becomes flaky (freezes). Notice this happens mostly while
opening dropdown menus from the top panel. Change Appearance
preferences, Visual Effects to none and problems go away.
