Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10
Steps to reproduce: * Try to play audio with analog 5.1 + IEC958 digital output in parallel * To do so, open mixer/sound settings What I expected to happen: * Analog + digital output should be available as a profile. (In previous versions, there were no "profiles" and it was enough to un-mute digital and analog output in the mixer interface) What happend instead: * There are only profiles for analog output and digital output (with various inputs, but input doesn't matter in my case) Workaround: * Every time I want to watch a movie on my HDMI TV, I have to switch from analog to digital sound output now. It's not so critical, but with Ubuntu 9.04 I was able to get sound from the TV _and_ my 5.1 system. * (Un-)muting the appropriate channel in alsamixer doesn't work anymore 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [9.10] IEC958+analog (dual) audio output not available anymore (worked with 9.04) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483076 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
