This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from

Also, the battery icon in the top right of the screen says 'laptop
battery is fully charged', but when I click on the icon itself the
summary report is that the battery is charged, but the percentage charge
is 0% ??? (See attachment)

I have noted on;

that 9.10 detects the battery, but this is not the case.
Any suggestions, as using a laptop with only AC power somewhat defeats
the purpose of using one!

Further the original post, I've now tried booting the laptop up WITHOUT
AC power, relying on the battery only - wouldn't turn on. I can only
assume the lastest release (OS or kernel, not sure which) has disabled
the use of battery DC power. Any ideas?
