i have figured out what this issue causes:
my fault was that i edited the lircd.conf and deleted all other remote-
configs except the one for my r100 remote controle
the confusing thing was that my remote controle worked and that lasts
for a minimum of 10 minutes ... before lirc crashed

ok, it's not the usb-wlan thing, but the cronjob whitch restarts the
lirc service helps

man, i don't belive this: it seems that lirc does realy trouble with my

i am now proofing a workaround. i have set a cronjob that does "service
lirc restart" every ten minutes. i have the feeling that it is better
now, but indeed not solved. yesterday the lirc service locked up again.
I am running an usb wlan-adapter, maybe that confuses lirc, i will test

I have exactly the same problem!
I am running yaVDR (it's based on Ubuntu 9.10), with lirc 0.8.6, also using the
lirc_imon driver.
Following Device: Antec Veris Basic (r100 remote control) - authenticates as
15c2:0043 SoundGraph Inc.
I have created this udev-rule to prevent usbhid from loading
The problem is that after about an hour maybe the device stops
responding. It's almost exactly like the behavior described when on
previous versions you were running only 1 lirc instance and not 2 tied
together with a listen statement.
When it locks up the LCD stops updateding (it's not that good
