Lasse, yes, the package should have a dependency with the linux headers.
I am glad to see that the package fixed your issue, though. I am
marking this report as confirmed.

Status: Incomplete => Confirmed
** Description changed:
- Screen keeps flashing (switc
The problem noted in previous post was solved by installing linux-rt-
headers-2.6.31-9. During installing that, it tried rebuilding Nvidia
drivers (185) but that failed. Then I installed nvidia-glx-195, which
built fine and now everything works.
Notes:
- Dependency issues on something (why weren't
Apparently folder /lib/modules/2.6.31-9-rt/build is missing, so I cannot
install 190 drivers (from nvidia-vdpau repository). Is this a problem
with the package, or do I need to get it manually somehow? It would
appear that the build folder missing is the reason why the kernel module
cannot be built

Lasse, NVidia has just put out a brand new version of their driver: 190.42
If you could try that driver with the ubuntu kernel, and let us know if that
solves your issue, that would be great!

Lasse, thank you for taking the time to report this bug. For additional
information, which video card do you have? Also, which version of the
nvidia drivers are you using. Lastly, which version of the generic
kernel did you use to have success?
